Tips I've Learned
Compliance is crucial. Complete every service in your case plan, even if you disagree with it.
If you havn't been provided with a case plan or services to that will lead to reunification, speak up. Tell your lawyer.
Document positive interactions. Keep cards, drawings, photos (if allowed) from your children. Also, document every visit (date, time, length of visit, etc.
Build your support team/system. You need people who believe in you and can advocate on your behalf
Don't talk about your case on social media beyond general advocacy. Anything you post can be used against you. They will find a way!
Stay consistent. Show up to every visit, meeting, court hearing, and every appointment, and document them
Be patient, but persistant. These cases take time, but don't let workers forget about you
Take care of your mental health. You can't fight effectively if you're falling apart
Learn the system. The more you understand, the better you can navigate it
Never give up. Even on the hardest days, keep fighting!

This resource page is a living document. I update it often, usually when I learn something new. Bookmark it and check back regularly. Because this case is still active, I am limited as to what I can share, but I will continue to share tips and whatever I learn as long as there is a chance it could it help someone else.
REMEMBER: You are not alone. Your fight matters. Your child is worth it. Never give up! Your child needs you now more than ever! Xoxo
